Sunday Hockey Roundup 3/25

The quick hit version of the Hockey Roundup for Sunday, March 25th. Five games on the docket today.

New York Rangers @ New York Islanders 12:30 PM EDT NBC

The Rangers have 85 points and the Isles have 83 points. The Rangers are in the playoffs right now and the Islanders are out….no more needs to be said….as Lundqvist battles Dipietro in what shapes up to be a goaltending duel. Get your beer and food ready for this one….and the GDT will be up and running catching all the action in this tilt.

Boston Bruins @ Pittsburgh Penguins 12:30 PM EDT NBC,TSN

The Bruins were just 1:40 from a huge regulation win over the New York Rangers when Thomas Pock got a gift from Zdeno Chara and deposited it past Joey MacDonald. Jaromir Jagr then scored the winner in the shootout and the B’s lost 2-1. So yet another late blown lead and they travel to Pittsburgh who also won yesterday..2-1 on a rather fluky bounce that went in courtesy of Jordan Staal. So both teams are kind of sketchy on scoring…and the nerves may show a bit…but I expect a 4-3 or 5-3 score for some reason…maybe its the anticipated Thomas Vs. Fleury battle. Check it out at the GDT.

Calgary Flames @ Chicago Blackhawks 3pm EDT RSW

Simply all that can be said about this one is the Flames must stay on point as Kiprusoff and Khabibulin face off. Chicago can be very dangerous in this spot but the Avs are putting a bit of a scare into Calgary by getting so close. They can feel footsteps and usually the Flames step up. Well no time like the present to do so….will they win another one against the Hawks? Come see all the action at the Chicago GDT on The NHL Arena.

St. Louis Blues @ Columbus Blue Jackets 6pm FSOH

Blues had a big win over the Wings yesterday…now they get Columbus who can either really score or all things break down. A curious battle to say the least…we got you covered on the GDT.

Finally….

Colorado Avalanche @ Vancouver Canucks 10pm EDT ALT, CPPV

The Avs have to win almost every game from here on out to take the 8th seed….the Canucks have to keep winning to fend off the Wild. Either way someone has to pile up the wins as Joe Sakic matches shot for shot with Roberto Luongo. Don’t forget the Canucks and their weapons… a lot of teams have tended to do that lately. Oh yeah…the GDT will be rocking…check it out.
