It’s the middle of May…the time of year where the ice gets choppy and the weather makes you want to go to the beach. Well we still crave hockey and the Wings and Ducks will try to satisfy that hunger…..and its all here on the hockey roundup.

The Battle of California has the matchup from the Ducks slant….they have a very nice detailed gameday even with the Javageek odds which tilts in Detroit’s favor oddly enough. On the Wings has the Wings take and some very good points about how lucky the Wings were to escape Game 1 with a W. Hitting Back will also have their take on Game 2…even if Derek has to take a few no doze to get the job done….damn fine job he does over there. Almost forgot Paul from KK will also have tonite’s game covered in some form….he always finds a way.

Hasek must stand on his head again tonight.
Game 2 may prove to be a real litmus test tonight. Were the Ducks really that dominant but unlucky in game 1 or were the Wings really just rusty and tired? Ultimately some things will be answered and some will not be. If the Ducks keep pounding away….they will start going in eventually….and Giguere is getting Hasek like work so far. I expect the Wings will put more scoring chances on him tonite and give Giguere more of a test and that may actually help the Ducks. Dustin Penner needs to be even more of a distraction to Hasek tonight…that 245 lb frame is like a brick wall in front. The Ducks got a lot of traffic and forechecking going in Game 1…and played with heart. The Wings showed their resilliency and Hasek showed his balls. Just imagine what Game 2 will be like and we have it all on the GDT.
