Game 2 is tonight between the Sabres and Senators. Ironically…the Sens fourth line came up huge in the third period against the Sabres. Oleg Saprykin scored the game winner on Ryan Miller. Saprykin has done this before as a member of the Calgary Flames when he scored the GWG against Tampa in Game 5 of the 2004 Stanley Cup Finals. When he plays physical, he scores…and when Ottawa plays physical..they win. However…can speed kill that? A good question….to look into perhaps on the Hockey Roundup.

Hitting Back will have the latest on Game 2 from a third party point of view. Scarlett Ice will do her usual bang up job at covering the game from the Sens angle…while the Buffalo angle will be covered by none other than the fearless Sabre Rattler who took a bit of an ego hit after Game 1 but will come back undeterred.
And now…our feature presentation……..
Ottawa Senators @ Buffalo Sabres 8pm EDT VS,CBC,RDS
Ruff needs to find the Sabres speed before its too late.
So Briere is taking the hit for the Game 1 loss…putting it on his shoulders….HEY DANIEL…SCORE A CLUTCH GOAL…that may just get the monkey off his back. The Sabres need that type of performance from anyone. Mustering 20 shots in Game 1…was downright awful for the Sabres and they have to generate more chances because for long stretches…this game looked like a Sens home game. Five shots in a third period doesn’t cut it in the playoffs…time for the Sabres to man up.
What do the Sens need to do? Simple…continue the balanced scoring from Game 1….the scoring touch did not fall strictly on the shoulders of the first line. Oleg Saprykin scored the GWG off a pretty centering feed from Dean McAmmond. Mike Fisher netted a goal so did McAmmond. Ottawa generated many scoring chances often spearheaded by their defense which was mobile and physical. Buffalo needs to throw their speed around…and skate. The less they get hit….the faster they can go. If Ottawa continues to slow them down….Miller will be under siege in Game 2 very similar to Game 1. Can the Sabres get it together? Will the Sens finally go up 2-0 in a series?? Find out…all on the GDT.
