Welcome again to another day of hockey….two games on the schedule today. First one is a matinee with the Sharks and Wings….and the other is the exciting theatrics of the Sens and Devils.
Time to get to it……
For some hard hitting NHL Playoff analysis….go check out Hitting Back…this is one of the best around….always amazing stuff that you can’t find anywhere else. Also for Devils info….we recommend Two Man Advantage as Pat will be doing a livecap of Game 2 tonight as Joe got tickets to the game….sorry Pat. The Sharks blogger from Sharkspage will have a recap later today of the Wings-Sharks matinee. Also, the Battle of Ontario for the Sens and by tomorrow something from our own Wings fan, KC.
Game Numero Uno…
San Jose Sharks @ Detroit Red Wings 3pm EDT NBC,TSN,Local
Hasek has little margin for error in today’s Game 2.
It is time for Detroit to show up. Though Nabokov stoned them in Game 1…it was more their undisciplined nature in the first period that did them in. Really, the Wings made a ton of mistakes throughout and it could have easily been 4-0 or 5-0 but Hasek played relatively well. The two goals in 24 seconds was a stunner the Wings could never recover from. Well Datsyuk and company won’t have Lebda and Holmstrom again today. The Sharks will keep coming at full speed….the Wings have to match that then surpass it if they expect to win Game 2. Will they? Come check out the GDT.
Game Numero Dos
Ottawa Senators @ New Jersey Devils 8pm EDT VS,CBC
Marty has to shake off the rust or there will be trouble.
O’Captain…thy Captain!! Patrik Elias will return tonight as the Devils face a must win Game 2 against the Ottawa Senators. The Devils pretty much dominated the last 40 minutes but forgot the first 20 in Game 1 and that cost them in a 5-4 defeat. The Devils will be at full strength for the first time since last season. Both Brodeur and Emery had shining moments but also had horrible nightmarish interludes (Marty in the first…Emery in the second). While I don’t expect another 5-4 game tonight…expect plenty of scoring chances which will put the goalies on their toes. This game will be different and you can catch it all on the GDT.
Finally…..come see The NHL Arena for all your hockey needs and fix…you won’t be disappointed when you come rattle the boards.
