Playoff Hockey Roundup — 4/19

My 3 Games Of The Night or Trilogy of Elimination

Will Sidney go home?????

Pittsburgh Penguins @ Ottawa Senators 7pm EDT VS,CBC

Crosby has the fate of the Pens on his stick.

Tonight could be the last time you see Sidney Crosby in the playoffs as Pittsburgh heads to Ottawa for Game 5. Ottawa holds a 3-1 edge and can win the series tonight. The outstanding play of Mike Comrie and Joe Corvo has put the Sens right where they need to be. Both have played great at both ends of the ice…leading even to some speculation that Wade Redden’s days as a Sen could be numbered. Heatley, Alfredsson, and Spezza have a chance to dazzle the home crowd while Sidney Crosby (3G 2A 1GWG) tries to keep the Pens alive. The key in the series has been Ottawa more active D…they have created more opportunities for their forwards to score. If that continues…the Pens season ends tonight. Will it? Come find all the action here on the GDT.

Can Vancouver Seal the Deal????

Dallas Stars @ Vancouver Canucks 10pm EDT VS,CBC

Hardly playing like a first timer.

Roberto Luongo has his first chance to guide his Canucks to the second round tonight in another battle with Marty Turco and the Stars. That 1.49 GAA and .950 save percentage of Luongo’s is awfully Conn Smythe looking…at least early on. Turco has been no slouch either…people cannot say he is having a bad playoff….just that Luongo has been a little better. Another thing, where has the Dallas offense gone? Yes, both teams would find it hard scoring..but Mike Modano has yet to score in this series and that is surprising. Modano has to get his line going….and Dallas has to play it did thru the 3rd period and most of the OT’s in Game 1 because that was when they were at their best. If not, Vancouver could very well be on to Round 2. Who’s gonna take it? Find out tonight all on the GDT.

Can The Wild Be Tamed?

Minnesota Wild @ Anaheim Ducks 10:30pm EDT TSN

Bryzgalov can take the Ducks to Round 2 tonite.

FIGHT TO THE END…that is the Wild motto. Now will the Ducks motto be Don’t give them life again?? Because that is just what the Ducks did Tuesday night when the Wild erupted for three third period goals. The Wild feel energized for the first time in the series and in a series where the first 3 were all one goal contests…that could spell some trouble for the Ducks. Rolston, Gaborik, and Demitra hold the key tonight because the Ducks will come out gunning to close this series. This could be higher scoring than most expect…and Backstrom and Bryzgalov will have to be on their toes. Who will win it? Come see for yourself…all on the GDT.

Oh don’t worry Flames and Wings fans…..Iggy has you all covered with her GDT thread tonite…all at The NHL Arena.
