The 24’s will battle for a playoff berth Friday Night in Raleigh.
The last two Stanley Cup winners meet Friday night with a chance to gain a valuable two points in their quest for a playoff spot. Now in their last two games both teams have had opportunity to gain ground on their competitors. So what did they do….they FLOPPED! Canes were outscored 11-2 including a 5-1 thrashing at the hands of the Flyers and the Bolts took it on the chin to the tune of 12-4 including a 5-2 defeat at the hands of the Panthers. Needless to say they have to start playing their best hockey now. This caused John Tortorella (head coach of the Bolts) to guarantee a playoff berth. While you won’t hear any such bravado from Peter Laviolette…you better believe the Canes are pressing and may be pressing way too much. Something has to give in a game that features a goaltending matchup of Denis vs. Grahame.
I believe this will be a playoff intense game but eventually scorers like Lecavlier, St.Louis, Staal, Cole, and Brindamour should shine thru. First one to 5 goals wins. Come check out all the high paced action at THE NHL Arena GDT.
