Six games tonight including well an awfully big one in Vancouver….time to jump right in.
HEADLINE GAME
Nashville Predators @ Vancouver Canucks 10pm EDT TSN, FSS
Wow what a game this shapes up to be. Roberto Luongo comes in on fire with 42 wins and has emerged as the 3rd player in the Hart trophy race just barely behind Brodeur and Crosby. The Preds have their dynamic duo in Vokoun and Mason. Oddly enough Vokoun is 5-0-1 with a 1.58 GAA in his last six starts against the Canucks. Expect him to get the start. Both offenses are clicking and both are very balanced. This game will come down to the goalie who can stop the other team’s snipers. A high level playoff like intensity expects to envelop the arena tonight. Come check out The NHL Arena for the GDT and wrapup.
The Early Game in the TSN Doubleheader……..
Philadelphia Flyers @ New York Rangers 7:30 EDT TSN, MSG
Brendan Shanahan expects to play tonight and Mike Knuble will too as the Rangers meet the Flyers tonite on TSN. The two players were involved in a violent head on collision on Feb 17th. Knuble was feared out for the season but returned last night in a 4-1 loss to Florida and Shanahan missed 15 games for the Rangers. The Rangers however went 8-3-4 in that span to vault them into 7th place in the Eastern Conference. With four teams breathing down their neck….every game is critical. Henrik Lundqvist is 5-1-1 with a 1.25 GAA in his last seven contests at MSG. Simon Gagne (groin) and Scotty Upshall (upper body) is out for the Flyers. Expect the Flyers to come out with a ton of pride. See you there at the GDT.
