Blues go MIA against Wild!

Right off the bat it looked like Manny was struggling a bit in net during the pre game warm up. Thank God he only faced 30 shots and not the usual 35+. But that was not our problem last night at Scottrade. The crowd was medium-smallish but very enthusiastic so for a Tuesday night it was not bad. That wasn’t the problem. The problem was Mayers, Weight, Jackman, Drake, Guerin, Stempniak, Wideman and others were all MIA they were on the ice but there was no hitting, no banging in the corners. Passing was ok at best. too much time was spent trying to finesse the puck around the goal and not enough time trying to get the shot on!

If we are going to make the run at the playoff spot We have to show up to every game with 120 min worth of energy. Ready to beat the top teams and kill the rest!

Oh I’m not saying after two lost games to man the life boats… yet. Just to identify the emergency exits in case.

We have great goaltenders. And great D is coming. Often we have good forwards at times great forwards. We need to get our D great now! Manny and Curtis can’t fend off 35+ shots on goal night after night. Listen to what Eric Brewer had to say after the game. http://www.stlouisblues.com/GAMEDAY/RECAP/0607/audio/013007brewer.wav

Finally we need a sniper, a real honest to God sniper. Someone who strikes fear into the hearts of goalies. With the new NHL we need a Hull and Oates combo again!
