Tuesday Notes And Scuttlebutt
Again, this quick outlook is for the seven games tonight. Every day, the goal here is to do something a little different. First off, here is tonight’s schedule.

- Dallas @ Montreal 7:30pm ET
- Ottawa @ Tampa Bay 7:30pm ET
- Winnipeg @ Nashville 8pm ET
- Colorado @ Minnesota 8:30pm ET
- Edmonton @ Calgary 9pm ET
- Los Angeles @ Arizona 10pm ET
This is not what most people are used to when it comes to Tuesday. It is far from the busiest day of the week. There are several teams on the back end of a back to back as well. Carolina, Montreal, Ottawa, and Los Angeles are all playing on no rest. It was thought that Arizona would be an easy idea. However, the status of Darcy Kuemper and Antti Raanta was up in the air. The update is good news as Kuemper was just resting and will start tonight. Raanta may back up.
The issue of resting players has come across with Nashville. It will be interesting to see how they nurse some of their injured players and their depth as well. It is something to keep an eye on.
Among The Injured
Here are some walking wounded for tonight (among the notables) and some additional insight.
- Brad Marchand (upper body) — Game time decision
- Mark Stone (leg) — OUT — Week to week
- Roman Josi (upper body) — Held out. Close to returning
- Nashville Predators players — Watch for maintenance.
- Mark Scheifele (shoulder) — Still out for Winnipeg
- Phillip Danault (headaches) — Out for Montreal
Some Quick Thoughts
As far as scheduling tonight, it all comes down to monitoring for injuries at this point. We will have some thoughts tomorrow on some of the early trends from the week. This is just a quick blurb today to set things up.
Dallas is in a good position tonight with Kari Lehtonen starting. Montreal is a team that can hit the net a lot so Lehtonen should be able to get in a rhythm. Remember the goalie will also play tomorrow as Ben Bishop recovers from injury.
Winnipeg and Nashville is the big clash tonight. Just because the Jets are without Mark Scheifele does not mean they have firepower. With Nik Ehlers, Patrik Laine, Blake Wheeler, and company, Nashville will have their hands full. Most are always looking to the top sixes for fantasy gold. This may be a game where the bottom sixes have a little bit of a say.
Arizona historically fares well at home against Los Angeles. It will be intriguing to see how a high event game affects the Kings on the back end of a back to back. This may be a night were if you streamed players from this game, there is a bit more of a reward.
Lastly, Carolina is up against a Boston team with the third most allowed goals in the last month. That may surprise some people but this could be a high event game. Can the Hurricanes score three or more goals again? They may be able to. Watch to see if Brad Marchand plays for Boston. That will have a ripple effect as far as wingers. If you own one of their second or third line wingers, it is significant. Riley Nash remains enough of a fantasy commodity until at least the weekend. That may go beyond that depending on the Patrice Bergeron evaluation.
