This Day In Hockey History (11/26)

We throw up kind of a goofy moment for the history buffs today.  Of course we pay homage as well to a small rodent as well but that is besides the point.  It is not the end of the world.  Honestly this was just something that seemed to make sense.  This gem happened 14 years ago today and talk about your offensive explosion.  Here is the video first and then the moment as always.

 

 

November 26, 1997


Florida’s Ray Sheppard scored his 11th career hat trick, Scott Mellanby notched a franchise-record 4 assists and Ray Whitney had 2 goals and 2 assists in a 10-5 win over the visiting Boston Bruins, in their first game under coach Bryan Murray.

This Day In Hockey History (11/26)

For Black Friday, we came up with a relatively sublime moment as far as hockey goes.  This one came from 21 years ago and now this guy is the longest tenured coach in the NHL.

 

 

November 26, 1989


In his 11th NHL season, Rangers’ Lindy Ruff was awarded his first penalty shot, and he scored in a 3-1 win over the Quebec Nordiques.
