This Day In Hockey History (10/28)

Today we found one that really takes you back in time but not too far.  Just think that this guy is still lighting it up in the NHL after all these years and looks better than ever.  600+ goals later and still going strong with a Stanley Cup in his resume, this player had one of the craziest yet best seasons ever for a rookie.  Generally a 70+ goal season will get you noticed but today, this moment came from 19 years ago.  Teemu Selanne time ladies and gentlemen.  Here is the moment and video.

October 28, 1992

Rookie Teemu Selanne scored twice and added three assists, and Ed Olczyk had two goals and two assists, as the Jets lost 7-5 to the Flames, in Winnipeg.

The Pittsburgh Penguins once had a phenomenal Power Play that could scare the living daylights out of people just by mere mention.  Here is today’s moment…..

5 PPG’s really? Yes.

October 28, 1998

Penguins beat the Flames 5-2, with all five of their goals coming on the power play. It was just the 7th time in NHL history that a team scored 5 or more goals in a game, all coming on a power play.
