The sound you will hear soon enough is the opening of the 2011-12 NHL season on Thursday Night. It has been a wait of a little over three and a half months since Boston won Game 7 of the Stanley Cup Finals. Yes it does feel like an eternity but a few days will not make a difference.
A ton of writing has been done ladies and gentlemen via fantasy hockey and hockey routes. All that really is left is the dropping of the puck. Yes some players we will have to wait for their return but just to see live NHL hockey that counts truly means something. Simply this is the point where preseason wonders see if they can keep it going in the regular season. We also see which teams still have some rust and which teams do not.
So if it appears like we took a break the next couple days, we really did not. Weekly Slapshot is on tomorrow night at 9:30pm ET and The Program is on Wednesday Night at 8pm ET for the last of the last in season previews. All those last minute questions and all those injury and suspension updates will be at the ready. Do not fret about those numbers and advanced statistics, because we will do all that for you and more.
Now the trick is as we finish off the last of our drafts tomorrow night will be how to best get ready for the season. As we all know that first week is a long one (Oct 6th-16th) as a matter of fact. This will be something that cannot be lost for fantasy hockey fans and for hockey fans, the NHL Premiere does throw some off a bit so hold on tight because that starts Friday with the defending champs kicking things off Thursday Night.
We will keep you informed throughout the season but for now, let’s everyone relax and enjoy the scenery a bit. Have a great night everyone!
Sincerely,
Chris Wassel
Director Of The Program
