This Day In Hockey History (9/8)

The moments get a little lighter right before training camp.  They always do.  Today we found a bit of an odd one but good one hopefully.  This happened 24 years ago on this day in 1987.

 

 

September 08, 1987


New York Rangers traded Pat Price to the Minnesota North Stars in exchange for Willi Plett. Plett never played for the Rangers, but was picked up by Boston in the 1987 Waiver Draft, in October.

Good morning and welcome to another “This Day”.  We are also just a couple weeks away from the return of Videos Before Bedtime.  In the meantime, here is today’s moment.

 

 

September 08, 1945


Former NHL goalie Rogie Vachon born in Palmarolle, Que. Vachon played in the NHL 1966-67 through 1981-82 with Montreal, Los Angeles, Detroit and Boston.  A happy 65th to the 1968 Vezina winner.

Hockey Hall of Fame inducted it’s newest members: Gump Worsley, Harry Lumley, Lynn Patrick and Jack Butterfield (American Hockey League Pres.)
