This Day In Hockey History (7/23)

This is an old but good one.  Yet, the trade below was one of the biggest in NHL history.  People often get surprised at how some of these often change the dynamic of a league, especially when anything from the 50’s and 60’s is mentioned.  At any rate, here is a moment from 54 years ago today.  Really this was something else for its time.

 

 

July 23, 1957


In one of hockey’s biggest trades Detroit traded Ted Lindsay and Glenn Hall to Chicago in exchange for Johnny Wilson, Hank Bassen, Forbes Kennedy and Bob Preston.
