This Day In Hockey History With John Lennon (12/8)

This day is not a normal one ladies and gentlemen.  Today sadly marks the 30 year anniversary of John Lennon’s death at the hands of Mark David Chapman.  In the only way we could celebrate his life and somehow relate it to hockey.  Here is our special moment of the day.

Here we celebrate the life of John Lennon the only way we could on This Day.  Please play the entire video above.  A brilliant artist and man is followed by a brilliant and rare hockey moment.

Now the hockey moment.  Ron Hextall became the second goalie in NHL history to get credit for scoring a goal and the first to actually shoot and score as the Flyers beat the Bruins, 5-2 at the Spectrum. His goal went into an empty net at 18:48 of the third period.
