Pick The Winner

The last day of the month has us at 45-15 which is a decent 75%.  Truth be told, the percentage would have been less if the computer had not fried like turkey in a deep fryer.  It was a sad day and we have been told never to speak of it again.  So we will not.

The early games have gone by the wayside tonight and frankly we were not going to touch them with a fifty foot pole anyway.  Even the Blackhawks and Blues we will take a run from this angle. This is a time to observe and see what these two teams are made of.  Chicago has been very up and down while St. Louis is vulnerable offensively right now.  It does have the makings of a very good game and yes it is on Versus of course.  I would give a wink to Chicago here but let’s see what shakes.

Tomas Fleischmann is now a Colorado Avalanche and should fit in fairly nicely with a team that needs healthy bodies above all else.  Chris Stewart was the latest big domino to fall and is out 4-6 weeks so the Avs need a huge effort against an Atlanta Thrashers team that not only has won five straight but done so by a whopping 19-3 margin.  Ondrej Pavelec Vs. Craig Anderson more than likely in this tilt and really this could go either way.  One may want to take Colorado as Atlanta is not quite as good on the road.

Then lastly we get to the Detroit and San Jose party.  These two teams do not like each other as evidenced by last year’s hard fought five game series that literally was closer than many in the playoffs from the previous season.  Jimmy Howard and possibly Antero Niittymaki will face off in this tilt as the key may just be what Detroit learned from last year and can San Jose find a way to get the engine rolling in the right direction.  A good start will propel one of these teams to a big win. Detroit is a well oiled machine and they may just win outright so take them anyway even with the + 1 1/2.

Good luck tonight on the games everyone and come tomorrow, it is December.  We may just have Santa on to start making some picks.  Win big or keep on trying!

Sincerely,
