My 3 stars of the night:

If the playoffs started today…

Rangers @ Penguins, 7:00

Blues @ Avalanche, 8:00

Kings @ Sharks, 10:30

Game of the Night:

Los Angeles Kings @ San Jose Sharks

10:30 ET… TV: Local Networks

Records:

Overall: Kings (12-3-0) … Sharks (8-5-2)

Last Ten: Kings (8-2-0) … Sharks (6-3-1)

Away/Home: Kings (4-3-0) … Sharks (5-2-2)

Season Series (09/10): Tied 3-3

Players to watch:

LA- Dustin Brown

Captain Brown has been really consistent this season and has five points in the last three games.

SJ- Joe Thornton

‘Jumbo Joe’ has one point in the last four games, but owns L.A. historically.

Projected Goaltenders:

LA- Jonathan Bernier (2010/11 stats: 2-2-0, 2.26 GAA)

SJ- Antero Niittymaki (2010/11 stats: 6-1-2, 1.80 GAA)

Injury Report:

LA- Willie Mitchell (wrist, out), Alex Ponikarovsky (finger, out)

SJ- None

Game Thoughts:

California rivals San Jose and Los Angeles get together for their first meeting of the year tonight. The Kings are tops in the West and will be putting their six-game win streak on the line. Todd McLellan’s club has been inconsistent, but I expect them to bring their A-game for this one. L.A. hasn’t been as good on the road and is due for a loss, which is why I like Team Teal… barely.

Prediction: Sharks 3, Kings 2 (SO)

The rest of tonight’s predictions:

Devils over Bruins

Sabres over Canucks

Flyers over Senators

Penguins over Rangers

Blues over Avalanche
