Waiting.
This is killing me. I’m watching the Colorado/Dallas game, but my laptop is open, and I’m looking to see what happens in Mr. Sniders office. All betting wisdom says Peter Forsberg is not going to re-sign with my much beloved Flyers.
I just read that the meeting got pushed back, and there should be an announcement by 6:00 p.m. ET… I’ll be happy that a final decision will be made, but I have a bad feeling that I’m not going to like the outcome… the chaotic rumor whirlwind is in ubber high gear, even having Foppa going to Vancouver. I can’t keep track of it anymore, it’s depressing me…
On a brighter note, the Flyers have been playing great hockey! Picards amazing 5 assist game, Jeff Carter with some big goals, Hatcher didn’t ruin everything, he even got his 3rd assist! Gange with the game tying goal and the OT winner yesterday, Sandersen working hard and not looking too bad, Sami showing tons of heart and some great jump, Peter Forsberg skating, hitting, hustling, assists…. Oh damn… Peter Forsberg… he looks fucking great in orange and black! Now I’m depressed again…
Oh, and yeah, I know… the Flyers are in last place in the entire N.H.L., that part sucks too.
So, with the very real possibility that one of my favorite hockey players ever will not be playing for my favorite team, the thought of the Flyers next captain comes to mind. And for me, the answer is simple:
Sami Kapanen… easy decision, and a decision that I think should have been made a while ago. I really don’t think Forsberg should have been given the “C”, only because Foppa just needs to play…
And this just in from the Philadelphia Flyers:
“Philadelphia Flyers Chairman Ed Snider and Flyers center Peter Forsberg met today and have agreed to continue their discussions. There will be no further comment at this time.”
Christ, I don’t believe it…
Oh yeah, I lost a bet on the Flyers vs. New Jersey game (the Flyers got 5 fucking goals against Brodeur!!! And can’t win??? What the fucking fuck?), and must pay the price; the wager? That I will post this series of words in my article… so here they are, a bunch of words; “The New Jersey Devils are a better team than the Philadelphia Flyers”
