Morning Skate (11/10)

There are times when a big hearty breakfast is the only thing that will do.  In this case, it is the rule rather than exception.  Thanks to Ryan, we are provided with that hockey breakfast every morning.  Here it is.  Yum!

Maybe this was missed last night…but Ducks steal 2 pts in SJ again….

Predictions record: 3-4

My 3 stars of the night:

Steen has played well in the last couple weeks with six points in five games.

CBJ- Derick Brassard

Brassard is on a hot streak with at least a point in the last seven games.

Projected Goaltenders:

STL- Jaroslav Halak (2010/11 stats: 8-1-1, 1.46 GAA)

CBJ- Steve Mason (2010/11 stats: 4-4-0, 3.30 GAA)

Injury Report:

STL- David Perron (dizziness, out), Barret Jackman (knee, out), Carlo Colaiacovo (concussion, out), Roman Polak (arm, out), Brad Winchester (leg, doubtful)

CBJ- Kristian Huselius (ankle, out), Mike Commodore (thumb, questionable), Andrew Murray (knee, questionable), Ethan Moreau (hand, out)

Game Thoughts:

The surprising Blue Jackets will be put to the test in the next stretch or so as they make their first road trip out west and start to play against division opponents. Tonight they welcome the scorching St. Louis Blues to town, winners of seven in a row. Davis Payne’s gang may be hit hard by injuries, but they are in such a groove right now. Plus, Mason has struggled against the Blues in his young career. Blues make it eight straight…

Prediction: Blues 3, Blue Jackets 1

Wednesday Game of the Week:

Boston Bruins (7-3-1) @ Pittsburgh Penguins (7-7-1)

7:00 ET… TV: NHL Net. (US), Local Networks

2009/10 Season Series: 3-1 Penguins

Prediction: Penguins 3, Bruins 2 (OT)

More to come from this game…on RLD Hockey.

The rest of tonight’s predictions:

Devils over Sabres

Panthers over Maple Leafs

Blackhawks over Coyotes

Islanders over Ducks
