Alright! Get out the candles and the cider! I wanted to wish The NHL Arena a happy first birthday and a hope for many many more. Sometimes you don’t really realize how fast a year goes by until you take a look back at what has happened.
From the get go…I have to say the Arena itself was a different place to go to for the latest happenings on the NHL. Respect has and always will be the key mantra but it doesn’t mean that it is dull. Quite the opposite actually happens. The discussions get quite lively….especially on the Game Day Threads. Yes we may be a little off the beaten path and we may not have 30 odd something thousand members….but we do have something to contribute and I’d like to think that something is indeed valuable to the hockey community.
The Trade Deadline was a fine time for us and so was the Free Agent Frenzy. So many posters with some amazing sources and news being broke at such a rapid pace. Almost all of it was right on the money as well. Well accredited sites such as Spectors were nice enough to list us in their headlines. It was a nice touch and a testament to our posters and their impact. I was lucky enough to have my days off the way they were to get in on all the action and I have to say it was very intense!
The Arena has dabbled a bit into the Arcade so to speak. With games such as The Offical Arena Game Prediction Contest….fans have the chance to go up against some of the best predictors out there. Think you have what it takes…why not join The NHL Arena today!! But hey it gets even better…..Hockey Around The Horn is our monthly battle of wits between the best The Arena has to offer….a new episode is in development coming soon just in time for Santa to come down your chimney.
There are so many other topics in the forum that there really is something for everyone. There is respect but there also is fun. It has been nice to see the place grow from its humble beginnings to what it is now. With the LSHL and The Stevens League….we even have something for the fantasy afficionados. The site is on the rise and the best is really yet to come as there are many things in development for the hockey fan. Without them, there is no The NHL Arena…and really without them there is no Monday Ice Water Cooler either. Happy Birthday to The NHL Arena….and enjoy the monday night hockey!!
Monday Ice Water Cooler…..
