This is not good. My team has been playing like the Toronto Maple Leafs, which is the worst way a hockey team could play in the nhl. Now, this isn’t like the lazy style which the leafs sometimes use, but the sens are just making dumb mistakes. Did you see shean donovan last night behind the net? That is the most atrocious defensive play from the Ottawa Senators I have seen in years. This team was good down the stretch last year because they put attention to detail, and didn’t make dumb mistakes. It maybe that paddock hasn’t taught the defensive system well, or individual mistakes such as shaun’s. Donovan was in a total hesitation when he came around the net, which lead to him coming back behind the net and giving the puck away, which led to the go-ahead goal.
There was also a sloppy play by phillips and volchenkov ( i think ) where they gave up the puck at their blueline, then comrie passed to guerin who was wide open in the slot but shot it wide (thank goodness). Whatever mistakes this team is doing, they have to rebound tonight vs a solid and underrated preds offense.
