Since there are two Boston blogs, it would be only fair to go back to back and quickly. It is a legend that I am not well liked in Boston….something about trying to take out seats from the Boston Garden as a Devil fan in 1995. I guess one can have that effect on other fandoms.

Seriously, Something’s Bruin is just a perfect name for obvious reasons. Sarah, Ryan, and Greg all bring something a little different to the table in their own ways. Here is the Boston version of Vegas odds for the 2011 SCF with Sarah. Some of this I do not agree with but its very interesting commentary nonetheless.
“As far as Boston’s own odds, 20/1 puts us in the top ten. The Bruins have acquired offensive firepower this offseason, they’ve got a start-of-season trip planned that could do wonders for team chemistry, and arguably won the draft with their pick of Tyler Seguin – and they’re still solid on the blueline and in the net, comparably. Is it too homeriffic to suggest that maybe 15/1 or even 10/1 odds sound more apt?”
Ryan then counters with Bettman’s Last Stand…a great piece on the craziness that Bettman and company have now caused. The fact that Peter Chiarelli acknowledged that he met with NHL officials a day before the Kovalchuk hearings makes you wonder on what Bettman really knew. Were the hearings fixed? We will never know. However. Ryan points out the following.
“Savard’s contract, according to Chiarelli, has been under investigation now for nearing 9 months. The NHL is going after this “situation” with all the fervor of Colin Campbell trying to dish out a suspension or Brett Favre deciding whether or not to un-retire.”
It is this kind of blogging that truly makes me smile. Serious info with just enough twist of dry and sometimes sarcastic humor that gets the reader to get this, THINK! Just when you are finished with that then Greg hits you with the dreaded Sophomore Slump. It is always fun to see the opinions of other hockey fans, especially ones in tune with the subtleties of the game.
