Something that we will be doing every Friday until the injury count goes below 75 is giving you the latest numbers on how many NHL players are well…injured. Now three weeks ago there was a league high of 128 players out. By last Friday it had dipped to 105. It looked like there was hope and then apparently because it was too close to Thanksgiving…the injuries started to pile up again.
And now today’s number of the day…updated to include the David Clarkson injury a little while ago is……119!
That is right 119 players are currently out or may be out of tonight’s games which really is still a frightful number. What is not so frightful is that at least some players are getting closer to a return…a guy like Andrei Markov may even be able to return by the 1st of the new year.
Coming later next week will be our first Power Rankings of the season. We decided to wait a full two months to get a better idea of who really is doing well and who is not. Until then, continue eating and continue watching all the afternoon and evening hockey. Take a load off and relax a bit!
