Ryan brings us his hard hitting wake up call every morning simulcast from the Red Light District.
The Morning After:
Last night’s scores:
Hurricanes 5, Wild 4 (SO)
Thrashers 3, Oilers 2
Blackhawks 4, Sharks 3 (OT)
Predictions record: 3-0
My 3 stars from last night:
1. Ray Whitney, CAR (1 Goal, 2 Assists)
The wily vet came up big to help the ‘Canes snap their everlasting losing streak.
2. Slava Kozlov, ATL (1 Goal, 1 Assist)
His first goal of the year wound up being the game-winner against the Oilers.
3. John Madden, CHI (1 Goal)
How about a little love for Madden!? Not only did he score a huge goal at the end of the 2nd, but he also won all 9 of his face-offs.

Philly’s captain has just one point in the last four games.
Projected Goaltenders:

Game Thoughts:
Is this the night New Jersey wins their 10th straight road game to start the season, tying the NHL record?? The Flyers will make it tough on ‘em! John Stevens’ gang lost to Buffalo on Saturday, and will look to avoid a second straight loss at home. The Devils are the hottest team in the league, clicking on all cylinders. This game surely won’t disappoint, and I’m going with the Flyers…
Prediction: Flyers 3, Devils 2 (SO)

PIT- Jordan Staal
Staal has just one goal since October 12… that needs to change.
Projected Goaltenders:
ANA- J.S. Giguere (09/10 stats: 0-2-2, 3.23 GAA)
PIT- Marc-Andre Fleury (09/10 stats: 10-6-0, 2.52 GAA)

PIT- Sergei Gonchar (wrist, out), Kris Letang (shoulder, out), Chris Kunitz (lower body, out), Brooks Orpik (hip, out), Tyler Kennedy (groin, out), Max Talbot (shoulder, out)
Game Thoughts:
Pittsburgh’s offense was almost back to normal on Saturday as Malkin returned from injury. They snapped their winless streak, but it won’t get any easier tonight. Anaheim is desperate to get their first win on the current 0-2-1 road trip. The Pens should win, but my gut tells me the Ducks will get a little revenge for their close loss to these guys a couple weeks ago.
Prediction: Ducks 4, Penguins 3
The rest of tonight’s predictions:
Bruins over Islanders
Blue Jackets over Oilers
Kings over Panthers
Coyotes over Lightning
