While I fight off all sorts of diseases and germs…here is Ryan with a special Friday The 13th Morning Skate…..
It’s Friday the 13th!! Something crazy will happen tonight…
The Morning After:
Last night’s scores:
Flyers 5, Senators 1
Thrashers 5, Rangers 3
Panthers 1, Bruins 0 (SO)
Devils 4, Penguins 1
Red Wings 3, Canucks 1
Lightning 4, Wild 3 (SO)
Predators 3, Blues 1
Canadiens 4, Coyotes 2
Stars 3, Sharks 2 (SO)
Predictions record: 3-4-2
My 3 stars from last night:
1. Tomas Vokoun, FLA (40 Saves, Shutout)
He definitely bailed out his teammates with a 40-save performance in 65-plus minutes of work.
2. Tomas Plekanec, MTL (3 Assists)
Plekanec’s trio of primary helpers lifted Montreal to its 2nd regulation win of the year.
3. Steven Stamkos, TB (1 Goal, 1 Assist, SO Goal)
#91 for the Bolts came up big with a shortie and set-up Malone’s game-tying goal with 14 ticks left; he also scored the shootout-sealer.
Dud of the Night:
Pascal Leclaire… Ottawa’s net-minder continues to give up poor goals as he was lit up in Philly last night. The first two goals could’ve been avoided by him. He hasn’t been bad with the Sens thus far… he’s just been inconsistent (like every other Sens goalie).

Season Series: First meeting
Players to watch:
CGY- Rene Bourque
Bourque has been a pleasant surprise for the Flames who had questions about secondary scoring heading into the season.
BUF- Tim Connolly
Connolly is the Sabres’ consistent offensive player so far this year, and is riding a 4-game point streak.
Projected Goaltenders:
CGY- Miikka Kiprusoff (09/10 stats: 10-3-1, 2.49 GAA)
BUF- Ryan Miller (09/10 stats: 10-2-1, 1.82 GAA)
Injury Report:
CGY- None
BUF- Mike Grier (groin, questionable), Toni Lydman (groin, out), Patrick Lalime (groin, out)
Game Thoughts:
Calgary has been playing really good hockey in their own end lately, and a big part of that has been Miikka Kiprusoff. Buffalo has played well this season due to the success of the stalwart in net. It’s going to be a very good game at HSBC tonight, and I’m leaning towards taking the Sabres. Calgary hasn’t won in Buffalo since 1996, and Miller is lights-out at home…
Prediction: Sabres 2, Flames 1
The rest of tonight’s predictions:
Hurricanes over Islanders
Capitals over Wild
Ducks over Blue Jackets
Thrashers over Kings
Blackhawks over Maple Leafs
