KHL Salutes Top Players from Week 7

Kevin Dallman Named Top Defender

The Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) recognizes the top goalie, defender, forward and rookie for the past week. The weekly selections are chosen by the KHL Statistics and Information Bureau and based upon both statistical results and overall performance.

Week 7 honorees are:

  • Best goalkeeper: Karri Ramo (Avangard Omsk). The Finnish goalie won all three games for Avangard last week, posting two shutouts. In addition to a scoreless streak of 138 minutes and 37 seconds, Ramo gave up an average of 0.67 goals per game, with a 97.5% save percentage.
  • Best defender: Kevin Dallman (Barys Astana). The captain of the Astana club had a goal and three assists in three games, and a +/- rating of +3.
  • Best forward: Josef Vasicek (Lokomotiv Yaroslavl). Vasicek scored three goals last week – including two game winners – and chipped in an assist for the 5th ranked team in the KHL’s Western Conference.
  • Best rookie: Alexander Streltsov (Motorist Ekateriburg). In three games last week, the 19-year-old striker netted a goal and registered a +/- rating of +2.
