So ironically the one not really talked about was the hit on Dvorak that looked kind of knee to knee honestly. More results will be revealed about the Dvorak injury today and hopefully its not too serious. As for David Booth, he has just a concussion and probably will be held out for a little while as the cobwebs clear. Consider him day to day for now until further notice. You can listen to the show archive right HERE. Also, you can listen to Justin from The Goalie Guild as well talk about the lost art of goaltending as well. Great stuff last night and much thanks to the co-hosts and my switchboard operator.
While I look and browse around….Tuomo Ruutu got three games for his hit on Darcy Tucker. See the video HERE. Ironically the hit that may cause the most harm is the Powe hit on Dvorak. Go figure! Tucker should be okay after getting a pretty nasty concussion as should Booth. Now last night there was a heated discussion more on the lack of respect in the game. Well we can thank the rules committee for that. The “pansification” of this game is just making things worse on the hockey fans. Strange but true.
We also talked about Mr. Moller’s hockey days as well. I think Randy could go on for hours about them but we only had an hour. Expect Randy to be on with us a few more times this season. We cannot thank him enough for being such a gracious guest who was not afraid to elaborate on anything we asked him. That and someone got an invite to the press box as well. That was very nice of him.
Also, there was actual hockey played. The New Jersey Devils are starting to find their stride while the LA Kings are still on fire with that Smyth-Kopitar duo. Jon Quick by the way has 8 wins on the season now. Among the other things I saw this weekend….congrats to Luongo on his first shutout of the year. It took this long…I know that is what most are saying. Come November…look out NHL.Tonight there are some big games too. Rangers try to stop the bleeding at home against Phoenix. Blowing a 4-2 lead in Montreal was not enough. Now they have to face Ilya Bryzgalov and the upstart Coyotes. Toronto tries to win its first against Anaheim tonight and really they might have a shot. Anaheim is 1-4-0 at home and really has not looked like itself at the Honda Center all year. Then there is always that Chicago-Minny slugfest or the Isles entertaining the Habs. Some pretty good fun on the dial tonight.
Well until next week….we are out of here. Stay tuned later for the Junior Report from Nathan and more Pick The Winner. We know Monday sucks…we just try to make it more tolerable.
Sincerely,
