Pick The Winner (Freaky Friday Edition!)

BallHype: hype it up!

Hey! We did not fare too badly yesterday. Went 6-3 to boost the overall record to 61-39 after 100 picks. That is a 61% winning clip for those doing math made easy at home. So far the expectations have been exceeded greatly. We originally set a goal of 55%…and then hiked it to 60. I think 60 ultimately may be too high but we are going to try to meet that one anyway.

Tonight there are only three games. These seem pretty easy on the surface to me so let’s get down to it…….

  • Pittsburgh
  • St. Louis
  • Colorado

Though Budaj is starting in net for the first time this season…the Avs should be able to eek this one out. Colorado fresh out a very successful road trip and even got a point in a sloppy loss to the Wild should be boosted by the home crowd. Carolina is struggling out of the gate and worse for them…Atlanta and Washington are ahead of them in the Southeast. Time for them to get it moving a bit but I do not believe tonight is that night.

St. Louis and their Power Play is too much for Minnesota. Scary thing is if Brad Boyes ever starts scoring….the Blues are downright dangerous and would be even more so. As it is…the Wild are 0-6 on the road right now and without several of their best players. Seems defense is missing there ironically. So expect it to be 0-7 tonight as the Blues should be able to win 4-2.

Lastly there is Pittsburgh which is just rolling along. Sure Sergei Gonchar is out but they are home tonight. Tonight they play Florida which comes off their worst performance of the season in a 5-2 loss on Wednesday. Both goalies were shaky to say the least and really Pittsburgh might be the best and worst thing to happen to Florida this week. Maybe they catch the Pens playing down to the level of competition. However, I do not see that happening and a 4-2 win for Pittsburgh seems about right.

Before we leave….a short video and enjoy those picks. Got some of your own? Post them on the facebook page when the link comes up and thanks.

I may have picked this one wrong intentionally. 😛
