First up, The Dark Ranger had this sent to him this morning anonymously. We will keep that part of the story going. Truth be told that I like the picture and it is rather amusing. However, if you read deeper into the story you will truly find a fractured fandom and that honestly is quite sad. Not only is it required reading but really its something that every fan faces at one point or another. When it gets to this point however…there is really is no point of return. This really is a sad piece that will draw at your heartstrings. Okay not quite but at the very least the paper bag gets bonus points.
Now on The Program last night…things did not go quite as they seem. We apologize for all the technical difficulties again. I get it BTR…you want us to get the premium plan but from what I have heard is that people have the same problems anyway. Seriously it was a fun show that spared no expense from a fantasy hockey perspective and as many hockey angles as we could get to in two hours. You can also check it out on ITunes and have a great laugh. A special thanks to my Vickey who ran the switchboard while my back was completely out of control. As I ponder my options for what to do about said back this morning….I know she probably doesn’t think she did much but I really appreciate it.
So Chuck Kobasew is now a member of the Minnesota Wild. The pick is the attractive part of the deal for Boston and little else. The two “prospects” as TSN reported are really just guys who will barely get another cup of coffee in the NHL if they are lucky. Sorry if I am not quite convinced of Fallstrom’s talent. Boston is stockpiling picks for next year as it knows the cap will not go up more than likely. In reality, it is a smart move for them. I still think Andrew Ferrence has to go though.
A congrats now to the NHLPA for appointing committees to try and reform their troubled organization. Things like this should have been investigated years ago but at least now there is some progress. Buzz Hargrove more than likely will not survive much longer and talk is Eric Lindros may not either. There is going to be some fallout from this. How serious that is remains to be seen? One thing is for certain…at least some heads will roll here.
Well there are three games tonight and until then….thanks for lending your ears to me and hopefully the old man’s back gets a bit better to enjoy the hockey tonight. Until then, aloha everyone!
Sincerely,
Chris Wassel
Director Of The Program
