WGR55 in Buffalo is reporting that the Sabres are in line to host the next outdoor hockey event for the NHL at Ralph Wilson Stadium. The other competition to host the game would be the Detroit Red wings. Sources also tell WGR55 that the likely opponent would be the Pittsburgh Penguins.

If Buffalo can pull this off, it would be great for the surrounding area. I feel they could sell out the Ralph. (for once!) Also, with the 80,000+ caThe Ralph, without an ice rink in it.pacity the gate revenue would be through the roof. There would be plenty of hockey fanatics who would drive from as far north as Ottawa or further, and plenty of Pittsburgh fans and the surrounding area would come as well.

Fingers crossed, the Sabres can pull this off over Hockeytown USA.
