Fantastic Finishes!

BallHype: hype it up!

Last night was a strange night besides the twelve games, a Heatley hat trick and alleged biting. Two games featured nail biting finishes right down to the last second or well tenths of a second. First off, we feature highlights from the Calgary-Edmonton game where Rene Bourque scored with less than a second left (later revealed to be a little over 1 second — 1.5 exactly). That was only a bit after Travis Zajac scored with five tenths of a second (later revealed to be 1 second) to lead the Devils to Overtime then the shootout win. Coincidentally both Calgary and New Jersey won 4-3 via the shootout.

First up the Calgary highlights……

Bourque goal about :40 in….

And now the New Jersey goal……….

About 5:00 in on this one……

Got to love it when things like this happen this early in the year! This is the second time Calgary has made a comeback on Edmonton in Edmonton this year and for New Jersey it provides some solace after last year’s playoffs (not much I know). It is further proof that the game really can change in just fractions of a second and why it is the coolest game on Earth!

By the way Dany Heatley had a hat trick last night….just to toss it out there. See how irrelevant that sounds compared to two fantastic finishes?
