Bertuzzi comes to the Ducks

The Ducks signed Todd Bertuzzi from the Detroit Redwings for 2 years and the contract will pay him $4 million each year.

Bertuzzi was drafted by the New York Islanders in the 1st round of the 1993 Entry Draft. He has played with New York Islanders, Vancouver Canucks, Flordia Panthers and the Detriot Redwings.

He spent a lot of time injured last season and Ducks GM Brian Burke expects him to be fit and injury free next season. Burke was the GM in Vancouver when Bertuzzi was there.

There are mixed feelings about this signing from Ducks fans and in my opinion, I’m not really happy with this signings cos of what happened in the past but hopefully he has learnt from it.

In other news, Teemu Selanne is getting closer to retirement like Scott Niedermayer is now.
