The dog days of the playoffs are really starting…..the beards are getting uglier and the players are getting dug in. A couple game fours to feed the appetite…this will be quick….as hey, I understand, you need to get more hockey into your brains.

So for something completely different, why not check out Frozen Fiend, yes we have hockey fans down South. Mike Chen has you covered on the Sharks but also has an interesting piece on the OT issue in the playoffs. Behind the Jersey never fails in its coverage for the Wings….ever. Finally, for another take on Ottawa, there is always the Battle of Ontario, which is mostly pro-Sens by now but good stuff nonetheless.
Game One
New Jersey Devils @ Ottawa Senators 7pm EDT VS,CBC
Time to run with the Devil or go home.
This game is simple…it comes down to whoever scores first…..wins. Devils score first…they win…Sens score first…they win. This is a must win for the Devils in order to avoid going down 3-1…they must generate more scoring chances like they did in the first two games then finish them. For Ottawa, they can really just continue to punish Jersey physically and come up with timely scoring. Brodeur just has to keep playing the way he has since Game 2….he has been every bit the MVP…now will the offense come and join the party? For all the latest, check out the Devils PST and the Sens GDT.
Game Two
Detroit Red Wings @ San Jose Sharks 10pm EDT VS, TSN
Hasek looking for a homer…he’s been found.
This is the make or break game in this series as well. Tomas Holmstrom will be back for the Wings after missing the first three games with an eye injury. He will need to crash the net and make Nabokov’s life hell for the Wings to have any chance. For the Sharks, they have to click on the Power Play…they did the entire regular season against the Wings but not so much in the playoffs. Thornton, Cheechoo, and Marleau will need their “A” games tonight as the Wings have their net crasher back and expect more scoring as well. For all the action…come see our Sharks GDT.
For all your hockey needs…once again…come see The NHL Arena…..great games…greater fans….all the banter….enjoy.
