After another loss to the Minnesota Wild, the second in a week, the Chicago Blackhawks may have just found themselves out of the playoff hunt. The Hawks, recently passing the halfway point of the season, desperately needed to win the game to remain only eight points out of the 8th and final playoff seed in the western conference. However, with the loss tonight, the Hawks find themselves back twelve points with a schedule that pits them against top teams (i.e. the Nashville Predators and the Detroit Redwings).
While there is still time left, and a potential surge could bring them back into the race, the team has been too inconsistent to warrant any hope that a lengthy winning streak could occur.
Unfortunately, all signs in Chicago point to yet another abysmal season.
