This is it! The one I have been waiting for and a lot of fans have been waiting for a long while now. The series comes down to the Devils offense playing hard and keeping the attack in the Ottawa zone. Wait…its not Marty??? Well it is a little but if the Devils can keep Ottawa on their end…it will wear out their depth. If not, then Marty has to come up huge for the Devils. Emery is no slouch in net for Ottawa either so the Devils have to come up with their “A” game without the services of Patrik Elias who is feeling better but won’t be ready till Saturday. This does mean the return of David Clarkson who will add a more physical presence..precisely what the Devils need against Ottawa with Neil, Volchenkov, and company. Will the duo of Madden and Pandolfo stop Heatley and Spezza? Who will win? Come check out all the carnage only on the GDT.
GAME TWO!!!!!!!!
San Jose Sharks @ Detroit Red Wings 7:30pm EDT VS,TSN
Hasek has to be vintage Hasek for the Wings tonight.
The season series was won by the Sharks 3-1…and really the Sharks dominated the Wings on the PP…so the key for the Wings will be to stay out of the box. Unlike the Flames, the Sharks have a bounty of offensive weapons that will put shots on Hasek. Hasek will have to face more than 20 shots per game this series and have to literally steal games for Detroit to win this series. Game one will be key as the Sharks have had some success historically at the Joe. Nabokov played very well against Nashville in Round One and will have to do more of the same in Round 2. Datsyuk, Zetters, and company will be raring to go at home. One note….Holmstrom (eye) and Lebda (concussion) will be out for tonight. That may give the Sharks a lift. This game will be action packed however, regardless. Come see it all….all on the GDT.
