Playoff Hockey Roundup — April 25th

After a day off…its on to Round 2….the stakes get higher…and so does the liquor tab. So with that….on to the Hockey Roundup.

TWO GAMES TONIGHT!!!!!!

GAME ONE!

New York Rangers @ Buffalo Sabres 7pm EDT VS,TSN,MSG

Miller just needs to be consistent for the Sabres.

The Sabres dispatched the Isles in 5 harder than expected games and the Rangers swept thru Atlanta like Sherman’s Army. Now they are here. Have the Rangers really found their focus? Can the Sabres team speed runs circles around the Rangers D? The answer is amazingly, yes to both. The key tonight for the Rangers will be Henrik Lundqvist…yes he is going to give up a goal or 3 but he needs to keep the Rangers in the game. If they can stay close, the Rangers have enough offensive weapons….the Jagr’s, Shanahan’s, and Nylander’s of the world to make this very interesting and possibly eek out a win. Ryan Miller has played consistent for the most part and that is all the Sabres need…is consistency from the back end and goaltending. Should be a nice start to Round 2 and it is all here on the GDT.

Game Two!!!!!!

Vancouver Canucks @ Anaheim Ducks 10pm EDT VS,CBC

Luongo thought Dallas was hard…Ducks will be harder.

Giguere vs. Luongo…another epic goalie matchup. However, it would seem the Ducks have a lot more firepower than the Canucks….sounds kind of familiar to 4 years ago when the Wings went up against the Ducks and everyone knows how that turned out. Luongo will have to play that superhuman for the Canucks to have a chance. The Sedin twins will have to score…along with the Linden line and that won’t be easy with Pronger patrolling the back end for the Ducks. Round 2 is going to get off with a bang at the Honda Center….expect the Ducks to come out with their young guns blazing…and you can comment on it all at the GDT.
