Turco can’t let too many get behind him or they may face Ducks again.
This is really simple. If the Ducks win tonight, they win the division. If they do not, then the scenarios will increase. This would be the first division title for the Ducks if they can pull it off. One problem…is they are facing the Dallas Stars. This won’t be easy as Dallas has a very outside chance of winning the division…so feasibly they could end up anywhere from a 2,5,6, or 7 seed. Dallas lost a killer last night 2-1 in OT as maybe they played too close to the vest looking ahead to the Ducks matchup. The Ducks last game was a loss in the shootout…which people have joked, if you can get the Ducks there…you got a win. But how San Jose did it was genius. With the Ducks on a 4 on 3 advantage….Ron Wilson pulled out the illegal stick trick. It worked. Selanne’s stick was measured to be illegal….the teams went 3 on 3 and the Sharks got a vital two points. Key for the Ducks…play the Stars like they have most of the season…use their speed….Kunitz, Penner, Perry, Selanne, Nieds, etc. For the Stars…use their smarts…don’t get caught and counterpunch when you can. It will be Turco vs Giguere in a potential playoff preview….check all the crunching action on the GDT.
