Hello everyone….it is the final week of the regular season as teams jockey for playoff position. Six games today….so let’s get this started before the early game gets going.
Hockey Roundup — April 1st
TODAY’S HEADLINE GAME
Toronto Maple Leafs @ New York Rangers 7pm EDT TSN, MSG
Defense has to tighten up for the Rangers as the Leafs are in town.
The game of the night as it has the most playoff implications as of right now. The Leafs blew a 4-1 lead last night and then Tomas Kaberle scored the GWG in OT to give the Leafs a 5-4 win over a stunned Pens team. Many will say it was the heart attack…and some will say it was just simply a goal. The Rangers come off a wild 6-4 win over the Flyers which resembled a game of Helter Skelter more than anything hockey. Expect both teams to tighten the reins defensively for this one. It is too important a game to get in a wild west shootout…especially with the playoffs on the line. Come see if Sundin and the Leafs can steal a win from Lundqvist and the Rangers only on The NHL Arena GDT.
Carolina Hurricanes @ Florida Panthers 5pm EDT FSS, FSFL
The Champs must win tonight or the season may be all but lost.
The Panthers are alive but barely…they have to win out and pray for more help than the Devils did in winning the division last year. The Canes are almost in the same boat with only two more points than the Panthers. This is an absolute must win for both teams because the loser is pretty much headed for the first tee at Augusta come Thursday. Cam Ward vs. Ed Belfour is the expected matchup….so will Florida’s young guns led by Weiss and Horton prevail or will the old guard of Brindamour and Whitney lead the way for the Canes??? Come find out on the GDT for all the recap and action.
There are a couple of games on NBC today….
AND
For all the hockey action…..rattle the boards with The NHL Arena.
