The Battle at the ACC Tonight.

Well sadly as a Devils fan, I am not surprised by the result. The Devils played with more effort tonight but not enough heart and fell 2-1 to the Leafs. New Jersey does not have the depth a Buffalo has where they can just plug certain holes and it somehow works out. The penalty that led to the Wellwood goal was very questionable at best and that determined the course of the game honestly. Not much you can do there. A team should be able to overcome such adversity but Jersey really didn’t come to play till it was 2-0 Leafs. Did they deserve at least a point? Probably. However, probablys don’t get you points in today’s NHL. Hard work, effort, and the occasional lucky bounce do. Those things were missing again tonight.

It is true the Devils are an enigma of a team, but it is that very enigma that creates such intrigue and probably anger amongst other team’s fans. They do get an awful lot of delight when the Devils lose…almost to the point of obsession. And you know something, there is nothing wrong with it at all. What do the Devils need to do in order to reverse the tide? Its simple really…..keep firing away at the net….it has to go in at some point. Almost like Murphy’s Law at this point….something has to go right.

Congrats to the Leafs and their fans tonight…for all the emails, comments. etc. And to Chris, that Leafs fan at work right now….thank you very much for your help.
