This Day In Hockey History (6/24)

There is the time when you always remember your first.  Sixteen years ago today for the New Jersey Devils gave us the following moment.  The brandy from the Stanley Cup was simply beyond good.  It is time for the video and then said classic gem.

 

 

June 24, 1995

Neal Broten and Shawn Chambers each scored twice as the Devils won 5-2, to sweep the Red Wings in four games to win the 1995 Stanley Cup Championship (for the first time in franchise history). Claude Lemieux was the Conn Smythe trophy winner.

This is a rare case of This Day “homering out”.  The moment happened 15 years ago and a phrase uttered by Doc Emrick became immoritalized.  Well here it is.  Enjoy.
