Throughout the summer, we figured it would be a great idea to illustrate some of the not so fine things hockey players have gotten arrested for throughout the years and even presently if the case arises. Why are we doing this? Let’s face it to err is human. Now here is an example of a real police blotter.
Scary but true. However here is our quick blotter for today. Next week will be a bit more expansive in nature. Did you know that the fine folks at NHL Fanhouse have their very own police blotter? It is why we are going to mix in some fake stories to go in with the real ones. Your job is to spot the fakes. Here we go.

Boat capsizes after accident on Deleware. It is believed the reported signing of Nik Zherdev caused a panic in the waters ot the Deleware yesterday. We are saddened to report that there were lives lost but praise the quick work of rescuers. Truly this signing could have caused much worse of a death toll. Earthquakes and tornadoes were even feared for a time.
An arrest warrant was issued on Friday for Daniel Hazlett, 21, of Northeast Philadelphia, in connection with vandalizing Montreal Gazette writer Pat Hickey’s car during Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals. (From June)

Los Angeles Kings assistant coach Mark Hardy faces a felony sexual abuse charge stemming from his arrest in Washington D.C on Friday, according to a criminal complain.
A former Detroit Red Wings executive faces a federal charge of processing child pornography, according to an indictment unsealed earlier this month. Matthew Brown, an exec was not discreet about it either.
Ilya Kovalchuk insanity has caused an arrest near the Prudential Center where a man was staging a hunger strike until he signed somewhere. The problem was according to Newark Police, he did not have a permit.
Members of a podcast called The Program were arrested for inciting a drinking binge amongst underage people dismayed by the Ilya Kovalchuk proceedings. As of press time, arraignment was not scheduled.
Stemming from the Florida Steroid case, it is rumored that several Florida Panthers players could be investigated. However it was realized they were just bulking up to impress the ladies. The real culprits have still yet to be found but the doctor is still talking like a canary though the canary failed several lie detector tests.
There were a few scrums on the ice at the end of Game 1 between the Bruins and Canadiens Thursday night in Boston. Alexei Kovalev actually got mugged on the ice from a Boston fan. Charges were later dropped when Kovalev went to Ottawa (Last year)
Fan arrested in on ice incident in Russia where he ran out with Jaromir Jagr’s stick. It was later revealed he was trying to ride it like a broom stick through the streets of St. Petereburg. Charges were eventually dropped.
This week’s fakes are pretty easy to spot….but next week’s may not be. Stay tuned.
