So it was an interesting night last night on the show. Go listen to it and now. We added a last minute surprise to the festivities. Thanks to Conor McKenna for being such a great sport from Team 990. From the tweets, facebook comments, and IM’s this morning, the show was well received and indicated just what kind of busy week we are heading towards. The NHL Awards are Wednesday and the NHL Draft starts Friday Night. If you wanted some real insanity poured into your coffee, I think you may have gotten it with a little extra dash of chaos this morning.
Okay there was a little bit of a controversy, if you want to call it that on Twitter this morning with Spector (Lyle Richardson). The Cristobal Huet to WSH rumor was hogwash people. Come on. The source in itself was pure hilarity. I think it may start a whole new generation of WTF rumors. Wait! I see Rick has gotten a head start already. Now that is showing some initiative. There will be a special hashtag this week for all crazy rumors. When you see the #wtftraderequests, just go hogwild but remember to use the hashtag. At some point during one of the podcasts, we are going to try to collect these or post them in one big giant post. That at least is the plan here because who knows, one of these might be an actual trade. Now that would be somewhat hysterical.
Last night we learned a little more on the Jaroslav Halak, the Hamhuis deal, the Arnott deal, the deal to end world hunger (no not an actual deal) and much more. The joke has now become, everyone is getting dealt. Right Puck Daddy? Right. I almost cannot wait to see how many teams trade up and down on Friday for draft posiitioning. That is always amusing and you never quite know what throw-ins will be tossed as well. Is this to the level of Brodeur for Semin? Probably not. But at least, we know these are not true at all and are getting a good chuckle out of it.
Also our second mock is up. Its like taking 345000 mocks (no not really) and combining it into something that makes sense. Again, no it is just a simple 1-30 from the first round. The usual always applies the first ten are pretty easy to spot and after that, it is anyone’s guess. Expect more of the same in this draft and especially with all the wheeling and dealing coming.
Now to some business, well sort of. We heard rumors of Buddy Oakes freezing this morning. Now to be clear, Buddy has informed us (via Twitter) that it was just cold…very cold. It gets cold out there. People need to understand that you play hockey in the desert in the morning. Its perfect.
Fantasy Hockey 101 is coming up later today with more news about what could be going up on Inside Hockey and potentially more about the podcast league as we leak things very slowly. Fantasy hockey season will be here before you know it. If there is anything else that you want to talk about, toss it in the comments section or up on twitter. We take on all comers. See you later.
Sincerely,
Chris Wassel
