This Day In Hockey History (6/17)

We have transitioned back to the original title since the playoffs have ended.  Sure there will be a few playoff moments but that is pretty much that.  Right on cue, we look back at the infamous series of 1999’s Stanley Cup Finals.  Here is that moment but there will be a video first.

 

 

June 17, 1999


Ed Belfour recorded his third shutout of the ’99 playoffs (and the 7th of his playoff career) and Mike Modano picked up two assists in the Dallas Stars 2-0 win against the visiting Buffalo Sabres, in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals.

June 17, 1999


Ken Hitchcock became the winningest coach in Dallas Stars playoff history, with his 27th post season victory, a 2-0 win over the visiting Buffalo Sabres in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Finals.
