As it stands now….it is time to put my stamp on the fantasy hockey world so to speak. This is not being egotistical folks. The reality is fantasy hockey fans like their info quick, easy, and reliable. I also like to play my leagues this way as well when ideal conditions permit. Reasons why we branched out to other sites was to give fans my unique take on the fantasy hockey world. It is different than most and keep in mind, we respect the many fantasy hockey sites, shows, and blogs that are out there. Its never easy to put your back end on the line for something you believe in.
So why are we doing a simple Keeper League? The reality is the fans want it. The challenge is there and you have to really respect the fans and their wishes. When this column was started a little less than two years ago, we had no idea where it would go direction wise. I never had any idea that we would wind up on several different media accredited sites. The thanks goes out to every single person that has read our articles, commented away on our tweets, and really have just been there one way or the other.
This is why we are moving ahead with another new vision. The key is to always adapt but keep in mind what got you there. There is one thing I will say now however. I have much respect for the fantasy hockey people I talk to on a daily and weekly basis. On the surface it may look like we are down each other’s throats but the reality is there is a healthy respect toward one another.
So when this league breaks out from Inside Hockey, you will be the first to see sneak peaks, within reason of course. The goal is to enlighten our readers on what really is going on in leagues from simple to complex and everything inbetween. Later this week we end the turkeys. Next week we start something new. It will be fun and hopefully everyone has an open mind about this one. The question is what would you like to see here on the FH 101? I am all ears at this point.
Sincerely,
Chris Wassel
