The Fab Four!

BallHype: hype it up!

A unique night last night in the world of hockey…..here are last night’s four best…..and a cider to all of you. Time to roll this out!!!!

4th cider — Jon Quick (G) — LA Kings

A shutout on the road for a third string goalie? Hey it does happen. It is impressive to take 7 blasts from Jovocop and live! Quick can definitely play but I am sure Kings fans are looking forward to the day Ersberg gets back. This may finally be the push that gets LaBarbera sent down for good. At any rate, Quick has played pretty well since the Ersberg injury and it is definitely a very good sign for Los Angeles.

3rd cider — Alexander Frolov (F) — LA Kings

Frolov had another good night at the office. Two goals for the Russian sniper who is on pace for close to a 40 goal season. At 16 goals, and a +1, Frolov is having a solid season for the Kings. But last night, Frolov was able to play like the player he is….and really could have had a hat trick several times. Either way, a scary proposition for teams who play the Kings right now.

2nd cider — Travis Zajac (F) — NJ Devils

Three point night will do it!!! That is especially helpful against the Rangers at MSG. Add in the game winner and most nights he would get first cider but not tonight at least. However, it was a clutch effort for a team who had not scored in regulation in 2+ games. Zajac after a sophomore slump has rebounded nicely with ten goals already on the year. It is a big step for Zajac and definitely a good thing to see if you are a New Jersey Devils fan.

1st cider — Andrei Kostitsyn (F) — Montreal

A hat trick against the Pens….need I say more? Well not really but we will anyway. Obviously he scored all three goals for the Habs in a game that they really needed. Plus despite the refs’ best efforts….the Habs scored all three goals at even strength. This trumped Crosby’s two point effort big time and of course Carey Price made it stand up in the third period in playing one of his best games of the season. However, this win would not have been possible without Andrei’s hat trick….the bro was proud I am sure.

And there are your Fab 4….because three stars of the night just is not good enough!!!
